Ramble #65: Farmer's Market at Republic Square
Saturday, April 11, 2026, 9:00 AM
Change in plans
Due to the discovery that Zilker Botanical Garden’s free day corresponds to Kite Fest, which means major crowds, bad traffic, no parking at the garden, and unreasonable amounts of walking, we are going to pivot.
Let’s visit the Farmer’s Market at Republic Square in downtown Austin.
The SFC Farmer’s Market takes place every Saturday at Republic Square, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. They will even validate your parking for the State of Texas garage, 300 San Antonio St. More info about that on their webpage.
Let’s plan on meeting in Austin at 4th and Guadalupe at 8:30 AM on April 11.
Once there, you’ll find many things of interest: the vendors and booths, people, probably lots of dogs, as well as architecture surrounding the square. The United States Federal Courthouse building (just to the west) is especially interesting. Go to the top of a parking garage and explore the view of Austin buildings. Walk around and see what you find!
We’ll plan out the rest of the morning when we meet up.
And bring water with you!
Agenda
