I mentioned this show back in October of 2020, but it bears repeating: the Netflix series Abstract: The Art of Design is full of fascinating stories about inspired and talented people. The reason I bring it up is that I was recently reminded that the second episode in season one is on Platon, a noted British portrait photographer. The show is, overall, very worthwhile watching, and if you specifically would like to see more of Platon, check out his website, Instagram, or his film, Portrait of a Stranger.
Feeling old-school? Perhaps you would be interested in a new film: Mr. Polaroid. This episode of American Experience (PBS) is about the rise of the Edwin Land and his camera. Watch season 37, episode 3 online, on streaming, or on the PBS app. You can check out the trailer for Mr. Polaroid here.
